It’s been quite a while since we have posted anything on here so I thought I would take the time today to go through the new and improved. Somethings you see and somethings you do not.
Let’s start with what you can see! New starting soon video is out. All the changes that have been made to the studio grounds are now in it. Additions like Pacos Desk, Rocket League set, the Bar and most people’s favourite, the roller coaster – THE OOOOOLE DICKTWIST. Along with that I switched up the music a bit. Moved Classic Jack’s song "Atompshere" up earlier so it gets some more play time as well as changed up some Silverstein’s songs off their new album – thanks to the record label UNFD that says all their music will not get DMCA on Twitch. So, with that if anyone is streaming and wants a nice playlist from a Rock/Metal label with no worries of the hammer of justice, UNFD took the liberty of compiling everything into nice Spotify playlists here:
THIS IS ROCKET LEAGUE!! The guys are signed up for 3v3’s for this springs circuit for the Indy Gaming League. We have picked up a new addition to the team – DrNoChill. Starting line up: Scubasteve, Grantasticbeats, DrNoChill with Paco and I being subs. Registration closes tomorrow so we will be back to covering the boys shortly. They made it to quarter finals last season so I expect semis or better before we start looking at replacing the team captain (Scubasteve). THIS IS WHY WE CANT HAVE NICE THINGS STEVE!
Tech Talk:
Rad and Wolfe have started a tech talk segment. Covering all the recent VR announcements, accessories for both PSVR and PC. This I understand isn’t for everyone but if your interested in expanding on your setup or looking at switching to Oculus stand alone or PCVR it’s a good time to get in some Q&A to maybe get some more information. Or maybe your just interested in tech and want to see what we are talking about. With tech talk I added a new fun segment called “Titch’s Toxic Trash”.
This leads up into the next topic. Me. I have been a big factor in the look of the streams which means I have been busy for the last few months originally creating the studio and the sets and getting everything to the point it is today. There are still somethings I have to redo and update but overall I’m at the point I don’t need to be constantly working on it. So, what have I been doing? Well if you are on the facebook page you might have seen me post a couple messages about a server.
I took my old computer and repurposed it into a server for us. “Titch why would AHC need a server?”. Currently we have 3 people regularly doing production. When someone else logs into Streamlabs, sometimes it looks for a file in a location (C:/name/name/othername/file) but that file path doesn’t exist on the other guy’s computers. Then it’s pings in discord 20 minutes before we are supposed to be live asking for a file that’s not loading in Streamlabs. Then its uploading to Dropbox or something to get people copies of whatever file. That’s the need for the server. So, I’ve spent the last while working on and configuring that so they could connect to it, network settings, ddns setup, setting up encryption etc. Well, I’m stoked to say its up and running. I can even host our own video chats. Unfortunately, the cam resolution is not correct so we will still have to use Skype. Just having a central location to be able to have a copy of every file we need, team logos, roster images, all our logos and everything we have created and free up space from my personal computer with all the little creations and projects I’ve done is a nice quality of life thing to have.
BUT! This also means I have more free time now to do what I do best. Adding in small fun additions back into the streams like the classic “Sponsor Spot”, “click on the icon on your screen to join the discord”. Toxic Trash is one, I have another one that will be coming to your regular firewall cast today. Lets get back to fun random segments that I enjoy creating the most.
